Output video resolution
ScreenMix - Screen Recorder by Mixilab allows you to record your video with the most commonly used video resolutions and aspect ratios. Also, the app sets the resolution which your screen(s) support automatically.
To change the resolution of your output video:
- Click on the App settings icon on the main app panel;
- Go to the Video settings in the sidebar;
- Click on the drop-down list of Output video resolution;
- Select the resolution that you need.
A few tips on how to improve the performance of a screen recorder and get a nice recording result:
- A higher resolution needs more resources and makes the file size larger. Using the maximum resolution is not always justified ( does not give the best quality);
- Do not use a higher resolution than your selected capture area;
- Full HD is the optimal resolution for all modern output devices and screens. The application sets it by default. Also, we use Full HD because this resolution is recommended by all popular video hosting platforms like YouTube, etc.
- If your screen has a lower resolution, we recommend using the “100% Source” mode
Frame rate (frames per second)
“Screen recorder by Animotica” provides a wide set of frame rates for recording.
You can use a specific one for each of your tasks.
To change the frame rate:
- Click on the App settings icon on the main app panel;
- Go to the Video settings in the sidebar;
- Click on the drop-down list of Frames per second;
- Select the frame rate that you need
A few tips on how to improve the performance of a screen recorder and get a nice recording result:
- Recording with higher FPS needs a powerful graphic card;
- Recording with lower FPS can make output video seems laggy;
- That's why we recommend using 25 or 30 frames per second as an optimal choice. It looks good and is supported by the most popular video hosting platforms like YouTube, etc.
Video quality
To change the output video quality:
- Click on the App settings icon on the main app panel;
- Go to the Video settings in the sidebar;
- Move the Video quality slider to improve or drop down the quality
Note! Keep in mind that using the max value gives the biggest file size and maximizes the load on your device. We advise using the value of quality equal to 70-80%. It's optimal for a good image and file size.
Process video mode
This options kit can help to set better interaction between your graphics card and our application.
To change process video mode:
- Click on the App settings icon on the main app panel;
- Go to the Video settings in the sidebar;
- Click on the drop-down list of Process video mode;
- Select another mode;
Note! The mode that is set by default is the most universal and powerful, but you can change it if you have a bad video encoding result.
