This topic describes how to enable, check, and customize your audio and microphone for a recording.

“Screen Recorder by Animotica” allows you to record any input or output audio including microphone
and speakers (system sound).
Recording audio
To enable output audio recording (speakers or system sound):
- Click on the Audio icon on the main app panel;
- Turn the Record playback audio switcher on;
- Select the correct output device;
- Click Start recording video.

Recording microphone
To enable input audio recording (microphone):
- Click on the Microphone icon on the main app panel;
- Turn the Record microphone audio switcher on;
- Select the correct input device;
- Click Start recording video.
Note! Input and output device list depends on your plugged-in devices.
Audio bitrate
You can change an audio bitrate for output video:
- Click on the App settings icon on the main app panel;
- Go to the Video tab;
- Find the Audio Bitrate drop-down list and select a preferable bitrate.

Checking the audio input and output devices
We advise executing a small test to make sure that all selected audio devices work correctly and ready for the recording:
- Click on the App settings icon on the main app panel;
- Go to the Audio & Mic tab.
Check playback device:
- Reproduce any audio on your PC;
- Look at the audio signal meter below the Select playback device drop-down list;
- If it is not empty – everything is fine, your current device is ready for the recording (increase/reduce the volume and the audio signal meter value should changes appropriable);
- Otherwise, try to use another device (select from the available).

Check the microphone device:
- Click on the Start test button;
- Start using the microphone and look at the audio signal meter below the Select microphone device drop-down list;
- If it changes, together, with the volume level of how you speak - everything is fine, a current device is ready for the recording;
- Otherwise, try to use another device (select from the available).
