What’s this guide for?
Are you looking for a stunning video that highlights your strength while concealing the flaws of an imperfect background? Welcome to Animotica’s most popular features – the blur effect.
The trend spiked to popularity on YouTube some time ago but unlike the lion’s share of “trendy tricks” never faded away into obscurity. More on the matter, it blossomed even further on Instagram.
Without further ado, we are happy to introduce you to the Background Blur.
The step-by-step guide for adding the blur effect to the background of your video
-
Start a new project.
-
Go to the start menu and pick the project’s settings option. Then click on Square as the Aspect Ratio.
-
Add a new video you’d like to tinker with and click the Edit button.
-
Then click the on the Fit icon. It’s supposed to transform into Fill after that.
-
Select the transform option. Adjust the scale slider for keeping the central piece smaller or bigger against the blurred background.
-
Go back to the main menu and click on the Project Setting button.
-
Click on the Fill/Fit tab again. From here you’ll be able to pick from a variety of blur effects – their icons look like water drops.
-
Edit the color of the blur effect.
-
Now that you have officially changed the Default settings to the Blur effect background, click on the clip once more.
-
Chose the Edit background option and apply the blur effect as part of the default settings.
Pro tip: Feel free to experiment with different colors and settings of the blur effect.
