What’s this guide for?
Have you ever noticed how there’s always that one random guy, friend, obnoxious aunt Carol (Sorry, Carol, but you are 100% out of that fantastic family reunion montage from the trip to Mount Rushmore) photobombing an otherwise perfect shot?
Animotica can help you trim, split, and join videos to create jaw-dropping cinematic experiences destined to generate myriads of likes when shared on social media.
Or maybe you’d like to remove your pesky ex from existence… At least on film? Hey, you do you. No judging – we’re just here to help ;)
The step-by-step guide for trimming
Start with creating a new project. Then add the video you’d like to edit.
Select the clip you’d like to trim and tidy up. We give you the option to trim the video from both the beginning and the end. Simply select the option you’d like to go for after clicking the Trim button.
Use the slider to choose the starting point for trimming. As we’ve mentioned before, you can go for trimming from either the start or the end of the video.
Important note: Trimming from the start will get rid of the left part of the video. Trimming from the end does the opposite - it trims the right side.
The step-by-step guide for splitting the video
As Julius Caesar once said, “Divide and conquer”! And while he probably never said his famous quote in regards to someone starting a professional career on YouTube, we firmly believe that the life of an aspiring content creator is every bit as challenging as the life of his legionnaires.
Without further ado, we’d like to show you how to split a large, chunky video into easily editable bits.
Pick a video you’d like to split. Then hit clip.
Use the slider to determine the duration of the parts. In simpler words, place it where you want the cut.
Click the split button.
Voila! You now have two separate clips. Feel free to be creative with what you do to them!
Pro tip: Use the drag-n-drop mechanics to swap the split parts of the video.
The step-by-step guide for joining the video
AKA the Oculus Reparo charm, but for videos.
Click on the clip you’d like to rejoin with his brethren.
Then click the + (plus) button on the side where the chosen clip has to be added. Alternatively, you can simply drag-n-drop the video clip from the PC folder to the app and add it to the required side.
